Temperatures in Virginia's cloudiest areas have run below those in surrounding, sunnier spots. Notice the 83º reading in sunnier Delaware, northeast of town, and 74º near cloudier Staunton, southwest of town.

Sunnier spots also feel a bit less humid as the atmosphere was mixed better by the "heating element" of the sun. Humid dew points can be found in cloudier spots because there was much less vertical mixing of the atmosphere, allowing humidity to hug the ground!
