Thunderbirds, French aerobatic team dazzle over Ocean City

Clear skies helped set the stage for a spectacular day at the Ocean City Air Show on Sunday. Reader Russell Moy captured these stunning images of the performers soaring above the beach and Atlantic Ocean under mostly sunny skies.

Featured in the photos are the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds and France's famed Patrouille de France aerobatic team, which is touring the United States this year as part of America's 250th anniversary celebration.

The favorable weather was a welcome change from last year's air show, when low clouds forced the cancellation of one day of performances.

Clouds increased in Ocean City late Sunday and showers overnight dropped 0.17 inches of rain as a cool front passed.
