July is peak season not only for heat but also humidity — Thursday will offer a blissful break from both. With high temperatures forecast to reach the upper 70s to lower 80s, and humidity on the low side with dew points at least down into the 50s, the nicest day of this July so far is probably on the way.

Dew points in the 50s are either pleasant or barely noticeable as far as humidity goes. Some weather models — like the European above — drop parts of the region into the 40s, which is super dry for July.
All with loads of sun.
And it's a big change from much of the month.
Through its first three weeks, July ranked seventh-warmest on record, and it was 2.5 degrees above normal at 83.5 degrees. There have been 14 days in the 90s, including Wednesday, and the coolest high is 84 on July 7, a day with clouds and rain.
Friday and Saturday may be a touch warmer, but still a good deal below our average high in the upper 80s.
