The weather looks quiet, other than the smoky air, if you are driving from the DC area to the Maryland or Delaware beaches Friday afternoon or night. At the beaches, some showers and storms are possible late Saturday afternoon and evening.
Saturday: Partly sunny with gradually diminishing smoke. Rain chances should hold off much of the day with highs in the mid- to upper 80s and very humid (dew points in the 70s). Winds are breezy from the south at 10 to 20 mph. Showers and thunderstorms become possible mainly after 3 p.m. and especially during the evening. Saturday night lows in the mid-70s.
Sunday: There could still be a couple of showers or a storm around in the morning. But should be partly sunny overall with highs again in the mid- to upper 80s and not quite as humid by afternoon. Winds from the west and northwest around 10 mph.
Water temperatures: They are currently in the mid-70s. See a live map of regional water temperatures on our Weather Now page.
