THE SITUATION: The worst of the severe weather has ended as the intense storm that swept from Middleburg, Virginia to Waldorf, Maryland has weakened and move off.
HAPPENING NOW: DC reached 100 degrees Friday afternoon, breaking the record high for the date. A few showers remain possible this evening, mainly across the southern half of the region.
THE SITUATION: Showers and thunderstorms crossed the area from west to east late afternoon into early evening. Rainfall varied from a few hundredths of an inch to as much as half an inch.
