Always a human at the helm: Updated around-the-clock by Capital Weather meteorologists.

Happening now: Feeling rather like June with temperatures headed well into the 80s as we continue seeing lots of sun.

What’s next? 90s are back tomorrow and Saturday. A cold front approaching the area this weekend could spark some showers or storms, especially by Sunday.

Today’s daily digit — 7/10: Trending toward too warm but at least humidity is low. | 🤚 Your call?

Forecast in detail

Today (Thursday): It's another day where clouds are few and far between. Temperatures also continue their upward move. Highs reach the mid- and upper 80s. Winds blow from the northwest around 5 to 10 mph. Confidence: Medium-High

Tonight: It's a bit summerlike this evening. Clouds remain hard to find through the night. Lows range about 60 to 65. Confidence: Medium-High

Tomorrow (Friday): Partly to mostly sunny conditions persist. Humidity is thankfully still low as temperatures rise again. Highs end up near 90 or into the low 90s. Confidence: Medium-High

Tomorrow night: Partly cloudy and a little muggier. Some added moisture keeps lows from getting below the mid- or upper 60s most spots. Confidence: Medium-High

A look ahead

If anything, it should be a little hotter on Saturday as a cold front closes in on the area. Partial sun helps temperatures to afternoon highs in a 90 to 95 zone. Just a small chance of a late-day shower or storm, with a somewhat higher rain risk after dark. Confidence: Medium

Better odds of showers or a storm on Sunday with a front passing through. We should still see temperatures rise to an 85 to 90 range before any cooling from rain. Confidence: Medium

Briefly back to around 80 for Monday and Tuesday behind the latest cold front. Cooler air won't last long with another heat spike building mid- to late week. Confidence: Medium
