A look ahead

Plenty of sunshine Tuesday and trending warmer as highs climb to the upper 80s and low 90s. Humidity is still mostly in check. Tuesday night lows in the upper 60s to low 70s.

The heat ramps up Wednesday under mostly sunny skies, with highs surging to the mid-90s to near 100. Humidity is somewhat higher as well, which could push peak heat indexes to around 100 to 105. Toasty Wednesday night with lows only down to the low to mid-70s. Confidence: Medium

Probably mostly sunny again Thursday but there are mixed signals in the models whether Thursday remains about just as hot as Wednesday, or if temperatures trend a touch cooler with highs more like the low to mid-90s. Confidence: Low-Medium

The early outlook for Friday is partly to mostly sunny with highs around 90 to 95. A shower or thunderstorm chance may finally enter the picture again. Confidence: Low-Medium
